Adults who choose MAT at Winston-Salem CTC receive a prescription for methadone or buprenorphine to help them manage the uncomfortable physical symptoms of withdrawal. Winston-Salem CTC encourages adults to actively participate in the therapeutic component of MAT, which includes individual and group counseling sessions. The combination of medication and counseling can help adults prepare for a future free from opioid use.
