I was told by my dentist that I might be clenching my teeth at night. Since I frequently wake up in the middle of the night with migraine headaches, I thought perhaps they were being caused by clenching my teeth in my sleep. I had seen alot on the internet about Dr. Simon's treatment of migraines and bruxism (the term for clenching or grinding teeth) and also read his book so I thought that he would be a good dentist to evaluate my problem. I made the appointment and Dr. Simon confirmed that not only did I have bruxism but also TMJ syndrome. His recommendation was that I needed to have the surfaces of my teeth ground down to change my bite and this would stop the bruxism, possibly decreasing my migraines. I asked him about how this would affect the two crowns and he said he might have to grind them as well so there might be some of the metal showing. I was concerned about how this would affect the overall health of my teeth and, oh yes, this was at the price of $3900. He wanted to start treatment that day and his assistant was giving me what I considered to be a hard sell to begin the treatment saying "this could be life changing."



I decided not to take the treatment and called my regular dentist to get her opinion. She said that it would be much better to start with a far less radical approach. Her suggestion was that I try wearing a mouth guard at night that would keep my teeth slightly apart and prevent me from clenching or grinding my teeth. The mouth guard cost $150. This is what I did and my migraines are much fewer and farther between.



Based on my experience, I would not recommend Dr. Simon.

I was so amazed with the customer service and the knowledge of Dr. Eva and staff. Extremely loving ,caring ,patient and gentle. Called to see how I was doing after the appointment, responded to all of my questions. I will recommend to anyone.
