Truly disappointed tonight! Called on Wed. and made reservation for 6 at 7:00. Requested not to be at the round table at kitchen & front door (which was unfortunately where we have sat before). Was assured by the gentleman I talked with that we would not get that table because it doesn't seat six. At our arrival, hostess directed us to the table at DOORS! Immediately I told her of my conversation during my reservations. She apologized and had NO other tables unless we wanted to WAIT and squeeze into booth with table at the end. RIDICULOUS! EMBARRASSING after building up Michael's to my out of town guest! The table we had was a round table made for 5 & patio table covered with cheap plastic table cover (black garbage bag). Food was fair. Our server, Brittney was very nice. It wIll be hard to forget this experience in one of Rock Hill's finer restaurants. Very Sad!!

We decided to go to Michael's to have nice birthday dinner for my husband. We had no reservations, so knew we might have a wait. No one else was waiting when we arrived, although the restaurant was full. The manager lady asked us twice if we had reservations, finally told us it would be a 15-20 minute wait and offered us a drink and a seat on a bench. Another couple soon joined us on the bench. Others came in, many with reservations. Finally all were seated but us and the other couple on the bench. The manager lady comes by and says, "did I get your name?" to us. We said no, and she said, "well, I don't need it now. Come on." So we get up, and the other couple that came in after us did also. She seated them in the only available booth! I work with the public and am very patient, but told my husband it was time to leave. I told the lady we would like to pay for our drinks and go. She asked why, so I told her that others without reservations had been seated before us. She said there would be a booth open soon, but I told her that we would like to pay and leave. She accepted no payment for the 2 beers. We went out the door, headed to our car, and she came out yelling, "how do you know they did not have reservations?!!" My husband was closest to her and said that they said they did not! She was literally yelling at him, they made a mistake, they were busy!! She knew they did not have reservations and was trying to make us feel bad??? My husband had to tell her to stop yelling at him! This was our 3rd trip there. While we enjoyed the food, we have seen this rude lady berate workers in front of customers twice. Things seemed frazzled 2 of the 3 times there. But to chase customers out the door, yelling at them over her errors and rudeness is unbelievable! We had every right to leave, and no food is good enough to put up with that sort of treatment. We will never go back.

I put this place on my ban list of places not to eat over a year ago. we had an awful experience there and the manager was very rude, and the waitress seemed lost. tonight I decided to give it one more try and guess what. nothing has changed. they were rude and I think unbelievablely overpriced. two pieces of fish and some chicken pasta cost me allmost $40, not worth $20. will not return this time. no more chances. good luck if you decide to eat at this not so fine restaurant.

Everything is fresh and made there, no microwaves. Great service and amazing food in large portions. Been 20 + times, Love it!

For Rock Hill It deserves a 3 stars but if this was Charlotte it would only get a 2 star rating. The food is fair and the service is usually good although the portions are not that large. The atmoshere is quaint and there is outside dining when weather permits and the food is not too pricey

Using the scare tactic to manage is inappropriate & unacceptable. Have been there on numerous occasions where the food was good, the service was good, but overheard the mgmt/owner giving the wait staff hell! This is wrong in so many ways! No wonder there are new people every time I go. You can't keep good help if you treat them like crap. It's sad because this place has great potential but won't last long with her there. :(

great selection and the service was nice, i had a steak and it was cooked perfect, my side kick had the cherry chicken pasta and my fork was always in the way. nice brake from the food chains out there.

The food is different and delicious, but dont plan on staying to relax and chat with friends. The wait staff will "check on you" so often it is downright rude, in an attempt to get you to give up your table after you finish your meal. If you agree that leisure is important in addition to good food, you might be disappointed.

just a great place, good to see a restaurant like this in rock hill !

Visiting from So. California, we have access to a lot of great restaurants. The 2 of us, and 4 family locals, including a 10 yr old girl, came hoping for some good food.The menu had good choices, and everything sounded wonderful. To start, the bread was fantastic. The coconut shrimp appetizer with some fruit dipping sauce was great! We opted for a bottle of rutherford Cabernet - good choice!The dinners were superb, alive with flavor! I had the Salmon Cappellini, 2 people had the Jail Island Salmon, 1 person had a "meal" salad, chicken or something, 1 had the pepper steak, and the girl had fettuccine. Everyone loved their meals, even the girl raved over her fettuccine saying she wanted to come back here again.The atmosphere was relaxing, with a warm, inviting slightly tropical decor. The music selection, beach music sort of reggae style fit, and was just right.Owners were very inviting, service was excellent!We want to come back here next year when we visit. Keep 'em going!
