Who We Are The Coastal Insurance Group, founded July 1st, 2000, is a local Maine-owned agency, affiliated with the Sevigney group that represents over twenty top-rated insurance companies and is able to provide our clients with the most comprehensive and competitively priced policies. Chris Maloney and Ralph Merrill began their careers as professional insurance agents with the Allstate Insurance Company. After 17 years of service with Allstate as multiple Honor Ring Award winners, they started their own independent agency, Coastal Insurance Group. Becoming an independent agency allows them to seek the very best pricing and coverage rather than only having one market to go to. Since Coastal Insurance Group’s beginning in 2000, it has become one of the fastest growing agencies in the greater Portland area due in large part to a growing list of satisfied clients who continue to refer others.
