I visited the local Deep River, CT office of Dr Elgart for a simple prescription eyeglasses. I just wanted my eyes examined to get a proper pair of reading glasses. Easy enough right? WRONG! The "computer lenses" the Dr highly recommended came in about a month after my visit. The prescription was not even close. I called the office a few weeks later and they said the new lens were in. I got there and they were not in. I voiced my concerns and so Doctor Gordon set me up with standard lenses that worked but I had to go for a 4th visit to their Old Saybrook office. I had to go again for Doctor Gordon to reexamine my eyes. He basically blamed the lens lab for making a bad pair. I was told they world reorder the more expensive "computer lenses" that me and my insurance paid for. Several more weeks went by and I called again and I was told the lenses were in. I got there and they spent 20 minutes looking for them and never found them. They said said they would reorder another pair of lenses on a rush basis. Two more week went by. The second pair finally arrived. They were better but still pretty bad so I decided to stay with the standard lenses they gave me in the Old Saybrook office so I could actually see! (my cheap drug store cheater readers work better the the "computer lenses"). I'm now waiting for a refund that I had to request!!! since I knew I paid for more expense lenses than I actually received. I kind of lost count but it was either 6 or 7 visits to the offices (no appointments for the lens fitting, just sit and wait your turn). Hours of wasted time and numerous visits over about three months to get a simple pair of reading glasses! STAY AWAY! This was about my worst customer experience ever. Go anywhere else!!! I had to choose 1 star to submit this review but they don't even deserve that!
