Absolutely terrible! I did plenty of research on Micheal, but I only found a couple of people with complaints. I brought my dog for the initial consult, and I must admit that he sounded very confident he could train her with no issues. After the first week I was finally allowed to visit and was astonished with how badly it appeared he had treated her! She had wounds all over her body, her neck was scabbed over with some wounds and there were fresh ones as well. When asked why her neck was so bad his response was "Your dog is a psyco!" Are you joking?! He still insisted he could train her, even though it was clear he couldn't. I brought her home and she hid under the couch for weeks. She needed to be on medication for the infection of her wounds, and is worse off than she was before. Unacceptable!!!

Noelle's Last Stand

I want to PUBLICALLY say THANK YOU to Michael and Sandra, of The Dog Academy of NC for the training of our dog, Noelle. Noelle had previously received training at a Pet Store, and via an in-home training video, but these didn't work. Her behavior actually kept getting worse. By the time we arrived at The Dog Academy (which I am SO GLAD offered boarding services where Noelle could actually go and receive one-on-one training by a certified trainer! No other place that I looked at offered this invaluable service!), I was at my wit's end. I actually called this "Noelle's last stand," because if this didn't work out, we were going to have to return Noelle to the Safe Haven, as she had already caused so much destruction to our home (and my nerves).

Well, after 3 weeks of training, work it has. I must say that after just our FIRST visit to the Academy, I already saw progress both in Noelle and in ME. What Michael and Sandra provided to me was HOPE. Hope that things WOULD get better. Hope that Noelle would be able to turn around. Hope that we would be able to love our dog and her behavior. This is what we were given back to us. I can honestly say that I haven't kissed or loved on Noelle as much over the past 9 months that we have had her, as I have been able to over the past 2 days. I can now do this because she is an obedient, trained dog, and I have been trained MYSELF to give the proper balance of love and correction. Our WHOLE FAMILY has been trained, for which I am thankful!

As such, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Dog Academy of NC, and will be using more of its services in the future.
