Provided by YP.comI've been going to Pizzeria Uno since 1964, and on a good day, their pizza is the best in the world!

Provided by YP.comTHE ORIGINAL AND STILL THE BEST!!!
I just moved to Chicago (in 8 days---quick trip!) and HAD to try the original (at least I think it is) Uno's. #1-derful, to say the least!! i just moved from the California desert, and missed good, solid pizza. The pizza in Califronia tends to generally be NYC-style, i.e. thin without a lot of toppings. Chicago is wayyyyyy different, as everyone knows and now I (thankfully!) have experienced.

Provided by YP.comPeople seem to either hate Pizzeria Uno, or love it, depending on their love of pizza and their background. This review is geared toward tourists, as downtown locals more than likely have been here already and have formed their opinons.
Things tourists might dislike:
The wait times can be pretty long (45 mins to over an hour when it's busy) and the place is small and cramped. Noise levels can also get pretty loud.
Things tourists might like:
Even though the wait times can be long, you can at least place your order when you put your name down so at least you may not have to wait much longer after you sit down for your deep dish pizza (which traditionally takes longer to make than a regular or thin crust).
Things tourists might like or dislike:
The deep dish pizza itself! I've had friends from the west coast come out and absolutely love the pie-like crust and how the toppings are placed under the cheese. At the same time, I've heard complaints about the tomato chunks in the sauce. Friends from the east coast have just plainly said that nothing is better than New York pizza. I have not had the chance to judge, though I hope to do so this summer.
So there it is. I hope this helps people that have never been to Pizzeria Uno. If you're from out of town and are in downtown, I recommend a go at this place.

we waited 2 hours when they said an hour and half, but we had heard it was good. Our kids HATED it! We thought it was not at all what it was hyped up to be. Crust was horrible.
My wife and I were visiting Chicago and we stopped in to Uno's for lunch. They had a line outside the door. We didn't mind since we were on vacation and heard it was a great place to eat. They took our order outside and we sat down to a hot pizza. We took many pictures and will never forget the experience. Place this restaurant on your list when in Chicago.

Provided by YP.comI love pizza, and especially deep dish. Uno's is the absolute best deep-dish pizza... ever... anywhere! Very few people know that the recipe is specific to this original Pizzeria Uno location, or that deep-dish pizza started here: thick crust, then cheese, then toppings, then tomatos and sauce on top. Any nay-sayers who complain about waiting an hour to get the delightful dish ought to know... Hello! ... That's how long you have to wait for your pizza to cook. Head to Ohio and Wabash early to beat the lunch or dinner rushes. If you must, head over to Pizzeria Due, a short walk away.

Provided by YP.comDon't let the guy who loves Edwardo's fool you...UNO is Chicago Pizza at it's best.
Ask for butter crust and you won't ever want another pizza.
I suspect the edwardo's guy is not from Chicago...because any real Chicagoian would tell you, eat at UNO's if you want real Chicago Pizza. That man must be from New York.
This is the original Chicago pizza. Be prepared to wait... well worth it. The Mona Lisa of pizzas!
