The first thing that hits you ...

Disclaimer: This review is in no way meant to encourage or discourage you to stay here. It is only meant to help you make an informed decision.

All rooms are not created equal. Was moved to a different room after one month so this review will compare the good, bad and ugly.

Room one had the stench of mildew that hit you the moment you walked in the door. Room two has visible signs of mildew growing on the bathroom ceiling and window casing.

The one thing that impressed me about room two was how bright and spacious it is and the abundance of storage space. It also has a kitchenette and bigger bathroom.

Room one had a mattress that was like sleeping on a caveman's special while room two's mattress, although smaller, was very comfortable.

Room one had a small table and chairs that were not comfortable for sitting for long periods of time but room two had a bigger table and the chairs were even less comfortable and on the verge of falling apart.

Room one had an analog TV that you had to close the bathroom to watch but was viewable from just about anywhere in the room. Room two has an HDTV but a very limited viewing area. Still no free Showtime as advertised.

Room one had a refrigerator that was a classic with a very small freezer inside the fridge section. Room two's refrigerator is more modern with a separate freezer that is over twice as large compared to room one but the refrigerated section is smaller. The microwave in room two is also smaller (cu. in. and wattage). Also the microwave in room two sits on the table which means you lose half of your surface area.

Room two has no phone, bedside lamp, or hot water in the bathroom sink. It also has a non working, partially dismantled cook top that takes up valuable counter space in the kitchenette that could be better used for something else (like the microwave).

Room one had no heating issues. It was always nice and toasty and I was even able to turn the thermostat down when I left for work without fear that it wouldn't recover when I returned. Room two started out chilly and really has never recovered except on those days when it gets over 50 degrees outside.

Somethings that the two rooms have in common are that the phone books are over three years old, it takes about three minutes to get hot water, the hot water gets very hot so be careful you don't get burnt, the radiators used for heat are in the seating area (like the kind that grandma had in her house) and could pose another burn hazard, and those suffering from arthritis in their hands will have a hard time going in and out. Cobwebs and dust bunnies at no extra charge.
